Has anyone heard this news about our Subarus? so, apparently, compared to some other connected cars out there, Subaru isn't as bad when it comes to invading our privacy. it's super invasive!
Yep, your Subaru is literally recording pretty much every single word you say inside your car. And get this, they can even use all that gathered data for marketing purposes! Wild, right?

And here's where it gets kinda scary: theoretically, that data could even be subpoenaed. The example they gave was a driver from a state where abortion isn't allowed, who then travels to another state to get one. Just imagine if that car data could be used against them.

I mean, is this true or just a rumour? Is this even legal? What do you think, guys?

I totally get what you mean, that feels really invasive, right? I learned that if you're using Subaru's Connected Services, they actually gather information like cabin audio, your location, and driving habits. It's all tucked away in the privacy policy, but it's definitely there. And yeah, it's pretty unsettling to think that this data could potentially be subpoenaed. That's just wrong.

Honestly, the thought of my car acting like a spy gives me the creeps. But the good news is, you can turn off most of that stuff through the MySubaru app or your account settings if you want.

So, are you still using Connected Services, or are you considering cutting it off too?

Eh? That's honestly wild if true. I knew cars collected some data, but recording conversations? That crosses a line for me. But then again aren't our phones always recording too? That's why we see ads randomly lol.
