I was out late last weekend and came across a slick patch of ice near my neighborhood. I activated X-Mode, and it managed a long downhill and steep climb on the ice without a hitch, kept me steady and in control the entire way.

I was definitely impressed, but it also reminded me that I should get some chains or traction socks for the next time. Does anyone have a tried-and-true setup they'd recommend?

For icy patches like that, AutoSock 697 is a good pick. Do you usually stick to city roads or go into mountain terrain too?

For a tried and true setup, it really depends on how extreme you expect it to get.
Traction socks (like AutoSock) are awesome for ease of use, a smoother ride, and light to moderate ice/snow, they're super quick to throw on. But if you're talking really gnarly ice or deep, deep snow, actual tire chains (like the cable or link type) will always give you the absolute most grip, though they're a pain to put on and slower to drive with
