Setting up my 2023 Ascent Base for touring and overlanding

I'm now thinking of setting up my 2023 Subaru Ascent Base for touring and light overlanding. I know they have the specific trim for this but this wasn't my idea when I purchased it and I was also limited by budget reasons. My goal for now is just comfortable longer road trips with the ability to handle rougher gravel and maybe forest service roads to get to beginner-friendly campsites.

I'm particularly interested to know your recommendations on all-terrain tires, lift kits, underside protection, and smart storage solutions. If there's anything I missed to ask, please don't hesitate to add more suggestions here!

Check out Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail or Toyo Open Country A/T III, they're great for gravel and daily use and yeah skid plates are a must and a good one is primitive racing

Vouching for @Mr.V here.. Falken Wildpeak A/Ts would be my pick too since they handle road noise well and grip nicely off pavement. Anyway for storage, you can have a drawer setup in the cargo area. I swear it makes life way easier when you're packing for longer trips.
